Michelin Unveils Its First ‘Friend of Michelin’

World’s-first Michelin recognition honours Hong Kong celebrity actor, foodie and television chef, Nicholas Tse

What is good food if you don’t have good friends to share it with?
Michelin and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, its supporting partner for the 2017 Michelin Dining Series in Hong Kong and Macau, today announced that it will be recognising its first ever ‘Friend of Michelin’, in conjunction with the inaugural Michelin and Robert Parker Wine Advocate Gala Dinner, Senses: A Sensorial Gourmet Journey on November 11.
This is to honour Tse's positive contribution to the gastronomic scene through his work, said Michelin in a statement released today. In addition to presenting a special dish at Senses, Nicholas Tse will also take the stage with Michael Ellis, the International Director of the Michelin Guides, and together, they will share their thoughts on the vibrancy and the dynamism of the Chinese culinary scene.

Tse, a Hong Kong actor, singer and television show host with over 20 years of entertainment industry experience, has made prominent strides into the culinary world in recent turns. The 36 year old is the host of Chef Nic (十二道鋒味), a food travelogue with a popular following in mainland China and Hong Kong. Shot in locations from as far-flung as Africa and Finland, each episode features Tse and a line-up of Asian celebrity guest friends going in search of great cuisine and culturally unique dishes, while creating recipes of his own in the process.

In addition to his show, Tse also owns two cookie brands and a bakery, Taste of Feng, and has his own eponymous brand of kitchen equipment.
